Assembly member goes for his swearing-in on the back of an ‘Aboboyaa’ tricycle. He explains why…

The Assembly member for the Mile 9 electoral area in the Amansie Central, Simon Kojo Antwi, shocked all who were present to witness the swearing-in of the newly elected assembly members into office when he arrived sitting at the back of an aboboyaa tricycle. The tricycles are usually used to carry goods.

Speaking to Obuasitoday.com, the honorable member revealed that it was his way of reminding the assembly that the roads in his electoral area and the Amansie Central are in deplorable states and something must be done within the shortest possible time. Hon. Kojo Antwi won the elections by obtaining 72% of the total votes cast to serve his second term in office.

“For the past two years, we have been told that the roads have been awarded to a contractor and he will be on site soon but we are yet to see him”, he said.

“Enough is enough, the MP and DCE must do something now”, he added.

On Thursday, 24th January, 2020, forty (40) assembly members were sworn into office at the Jacoubou community centre in the Amansie Central district and Hon. Osei Dua Isaac, was elected as the Presiding Member. Osei Dua is the Assembly member for the Asikasu electoral area.
