Catholic Voices GH held its inaugural “MO NE ADWUMA” event in Wawasi, Obuasi, to recognize individuals from the Adansi community who have made outstanding contributions across various fields.
The ceremony honored a distinguished group of awardees, including:
• His Lordship John Yaw Afoakwah, Catholic Bishop of Obuasi
• Nana Kwantenpenaa Kwamoah Bosompem, Reagent of Adansi Odumasi
• Rev. Dr. Love Konadu, Executive Director of Love Foundation
• Mr. Richard K. Ellimah, Journalist and Expert in Mines and Sustainable Development
• Mr. David Hagan, Director of Galaxy Foundation and past MTN Heroes for Change awardee
• Mrs. Louisa Amoah, Executive Director of Girls Shall Grow Foundation
• Mr. Charles Wundengba, Executive Director, Wundef Media
Each recipient was presented with a citation, acknowledging their remarkable service and dedication to their respective fields.
In a heartfelt address, the awardees expressed their gratitude, celebrating the recognition of their hard work and contributions to society. The event was further enriched by performances from the Catholic Voices GH choir and the Dom Peace Chorale, which added a soulful, melodic atmosphere to the proceedings.
Speaking after the event, Mr. Joseph Owusu-Addo, Executive Director of Catholic Voices GH, emphasized the significance of honoring individuals while they are still alive. He extended his appreciation to the awardees for their lasting impact on their communities and encouraged other choral groups to follow this example of celebration and recognition.
Mr. Owusu-Addo also revealed that the “MO NE ADWUMA” program would become an annual tradition, designed to highlight the efforts of individuals across Ghana who are making meaningful differences in their communities.
The ceremony brought together members of the clergy, local business leaders, families, friends, media, and the public, all united in celebrating the achievements of the honorees.
