Obuasi East district had its maiden Independence Day celebration at the Father Murphy Senior high school on Wednesday 6th March, 2019.
The celebration which was dubbed ‘Celebrating Peace and Unity’ was attended by the District Chief Executive of Obuasi East, the Member of Parliament for Obuasi East, Obuasi East District Assembly Presiding Member, Assembly members, schools, the media, among others. Twenty-three schools were invited for the March Pass which comprised of ten primary schools, eleven junior high schools and two senior high schools.
Christ Community school, Tutuka Methodist and Great Adass emerged first, second and third respectively in the primary school march past. Abusco Royal school also won the JHS division. Artic secondary school trailed behind Christ the King Senior High school in the senior high school division.
