Some residents of the gold rich municipality, Obuasi in the Ashanti region, have resorted to drinking of boiled neem tree leaves, as a means of boosting their immune system against the deadly Coronavirus.
After spikes in case counts, residents have started adhering to all protocols to stay safe from the deadly disease.
The news of the neem tree being an immune booster went viral, after some herbal medicine manufacturers recommended it in viral videos.
Cashing In
According to residents, due to the unavailability and difficulty of getting the leaves, some youths around the old railways quarters and Emuye, all suburbs of Obuasi have started selling the leaves to people for Ghc 2.00.
As at the time of this report, Obuasi is leading in case counts and have also recorded 1 mortality in the Ashanti region.
