Obuasi: Unannounced power fluctuations affecting businesses

The recent power outages in the Obuasi East District and Obuasi municipality, is affecting the already comatose business environment which is suffering the effect of COVID-19.

Residents and businesses suffer over 28 hours of power outage without any communiqué from the Electricity Company of Ghana.

Posts and comments on the Obuasi Facebook space is full of anger and displeasure towards the power distributor in what they term as disrespecting to clients.

Commercial and residential users of power in the area are calling for a swift attention to the energy problem.

As at the time of this report, residents have stayed without power from yesterday.

According to an engineer with the Electricity Company of Ghana which wish not to be mentioned said, the lights out is due to electrical fault which they are seriously working on. It is hoped to be done very soon after which the power will be restored.
