Residents and commuters in Emuye, a suburb of the Obuasi Municipality, are raising serious concerns over exposed underground electricity cables belonging to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
The exposed cables, which have been left unattended, pose a major safety risk to both pedestrians and motorists in the area.
According to the Assembly Member for the area, Hon. David Odum, he has personally reported the situation to the ECG District Manager but is yet to see any action taken.
“I have informed the ECG boss about the danger these exposed cables present to the public, but unfortunately, nothing has been done so far,” he told our reporter.
Residents are calling on the ECG and relevant authorities to act swiftly to prevent a potential disaster.
