David Adama, the Obuasi West Constituency Secretary for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has broken his silence on the nomination of Faustilove Appiah Kanin by the President as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE). Speaking on the morning show on Aseda FM with host Obarima Kwadwo Gyamfi, Adama expressed both disappointment and acceptance following the release of the official list of nominees yesterday.
Adama, who was widely considered a potential candidate for the position of Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), revealed that he was among the first to see the list when it was released.
“I’m disappointed I wasn’t nominated,” he said frankly during the interview. However, he quickly added, “But I believe the President knows better.”
Adama went on to say that if the nomination had been based purely on hard work, he believes he would have been the obvious choice.
“If hard work was the basis for the nomination, I would have been nominated because I have worked very hard,” he stated.
Despite his personal disappointment, Adama demonstrated magnanimity in response to Faustilove Appiah Kanin’s nomination. Faustilove, who was the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Obuasi West in both the 2020 and 2024 general elections, received Adama’s full support. He revealed that he had called to congratulate her and offered his prayers for her successful confirmation.
“I called Faustilove and congratulated her. Let’s pray she gets confirmed,” he said.
He also took the opportunity to call on assembly members to support her nomination.
“I call on the assembly members to vote and confirm her,” Adama urged.
