Current Asante Kotoko striker, Emmanuel Osei, is astonished over his unpaid contract arrears. Osei, who is popularly referred to as Carlos in the football circles joined Kotoko in the second transfer window from defending league champions Ashantigold FC.
Carlos was feeling very bitter over the treatment been meted out to him by his former employers in the shape of Ashantigold.
‘I signed a three year contract and was supposed to be given GH¢4000 at the beginning of every season’, he said.
Osei Carlos played a major role in the quest of Ashgold claiming the league trophy last season. He further explained how his ex club is still owing him some money due as per the contractual agreement.
“At the beginning of this season they said the club is cash strapped and that they will sort me out later on, but they are now telling me that they won’t give me the money since I will not be playing the second round for them but for Kotoko instead”, he explained.
Osei said that, all efforts he has made so far to reclaim the money has proven futile.
As part of his contact terms, Osei was also entitled to a pay rise after every ten (10) matches he played but that part of the contract was not honored but he said he was not unsettled by that.
Osei won his first piece of silverware with his new club Kotoko on Friday as they beat their bitterest arch rivals Hearts of Oak 3-2 on penalties to annex the coveted President’s cup. He was one of the successful penalty takers for his side.
