Hon. Elijah Adansi Bonnah, the Municipal Chief Executive for Obuasi Municipality has refuted claims that he has called for a debate between him and the immediate past MCE, Akwasi Agyemang Boadi and other past NDC MCEs. He said the challenge was to the NDC in Obuasi West on their achievement from 2013 to 2016 in the constituency under the Mahama administration which was headed by Akwasi Agyemang Boadi in the constituency against the achievement of the NPP under President Akufo Addo and himself as MCE.
Speaking to Obuasitoday.com, he said the debate should be between President Nana Addo and former President John Mahama’s achievements in the Obuasi West constituency.
“I represent my government to talk about what we have been able to achieve within our three and half years in office” he said.
He added that the NDC led by the Former President Mahama called for the debate and his reaction was in response to that.
Today, the NDC in Obuasi West officially released a statement accepting the challenge. The press release which was made available to Obuasitoday stated that the party is ever ready for such a debate.
Akwasi Agyemang Boadi, former MCE of Obuasi, on Aseda FM’s National Interest hosted by Barima Kwadwo Anokye Gyamfi on Saturday evening said he had been waiting for such an opportunity.
“This is an opportunity I have been anxiously waiting for. I won’t add the construction of boreholes to my achievements but Bonnah is free to add them to his but I will still win hands down!” The former MCE, popularly known as Zubah said.
