Obarima Kwadwo Gyamfi Wins Best Morning Show Host in Ashanti Region at Foklex Media Awards.

Obarima Kwadwo Gyamfi, a popular broadcast journalist and morning show host at Aseda FM, has won the Best Morning Show Host in the Ashanti region at the Foklex Media Awards. The award ceremony was held on May 13th, 2023 in Accra, and Koo Gyamfi was recognized for his outstanding work in the media industry.

Gyamfi, who is also a trained teacher, has been in the media space for almost a decade, and he has worked for various radio stations across Ghana. He began his media career as a reporter for Kessben FM, when he was in Bawku, where he was posted to work as a teacher. He later did freelance work for GEM FM and some local radio stations in the Bawku Municipal, which sparked his interest in media.

In 2017, Gyamfi was introduced to the General Manager of Time 96.9Mhz, by the then News Editor of Otec FM, Abrewa Nana. He became the co-host of OFM 107.7MHz Morning Show together with Kwabena Yeboah (Abrewa) and worked for two years. He then continued as the Morning Show co-host at TIME 96.9MHz in January 2020.

In June 2020, Jegien Enterprise Limited’s ASEDA FM approached Gyamfi, and he became the Host of Saturday Evening’s Political Show, National Interest, and also the Morning Show Co-Host. In February 2022, Gyamfi was appointed as the substantive Morning Show Host of Aseda FM’s ‘Ghana Nti’ Morning Show, which has become one of Obuasi’s most listened-to morning shows.

The ‘Aseda Morning Show’ is a comprehensive show that includes news, interviews, business segments, technology news, social and political analysis.

The Foklex Media Awards is a regional-based award scheme that is structured to appreciate the work of Media Practitioners across Ghana. It is a yearly event organized by Foklex Media Production, a registered event and advertising organization. The maiden edition of the awards was done in 2007, and it has since become a prestigious event that recognizes the efforts of media personalities across the country.
