Obuasi East District Invites Public to 66th Independence Day Parade

The Obuasi East District Assembly has announced plans to organize a parade involving schools and identifiable groups to mark the 66th Independence Day Anniversary of the Republic of Ghana.

The parade, which will take place at the Boete School Park, will feature 20 Junior and Primary schools, two Senior High Schools, and three Cadet Corps from the district. They will all participate in a march past to showcase their unity and pride in Ghana’s rich cultural heritage.

The event is scheduled to take place on Monday, March 6, 2023, at 7:00 am, under the theme “Our Unity. Our Strength. Our Purpose.”

Hon. Faustina Amissah, the District Chief Executive for Obuasi East, will deliver the keynote address, while Hon. Dr. Patrick Boakye-Yiadom, the Member of Parliament for Obuasi East Constituency, will serve as the Special Guest of Honor.

The assembly has extended an invitation to the general public to join in the celebration of the 66th Independence Day Anniversary of the Republic of Ghana. This event will provide an opportunity for Ghanaians to come together, celebrate the country’s independence, and reflect on the progress made so far.
