KUMASI, Ghana – Wundef Media | August 14, 2026 — Education leaders, school owners, administrators and teachers gathered in Kumasi last week for the 2026 School Growth Conference, where speakers urged schools to strengthen leadership, teamwork and systems to achieve sustainable growth.
The two-day conference, organised by School Transform at the KNUST Library Mall, was held under the theme “The Ant Concept – Achieve • Nurture • Transform.”
The conference used the way ants build, communicate and work together as a model for schools, encouraging education leaders to develop systems in which individuals understand their roles and work towards a common goal.
Nana Agyeiwah, CEO of BACNOF Schools, founder of School Transform and convener of the conference, focused on the function of the Queen Ant, drawing lessons on leadership, organisation and the role of leaders in building effective institutions.
Mr. Enoch Oye, Principal of International Community School (ICS), Kumasi, spoke on “Achieve” and “Nurture”, highlighting the need for schools to pursue clear goals while deliberately developing teachers, students and other members of the school community.
Mr. Joel K. Abeseabe, Business Manager of Riverside Academy, Fumesua, addressed “Nurture” and “Transform”, focusing on developing people and improving systems and practices to strengthen institutional performance.
The speakers also emphasised communication, teamwork, discipline, shared responsibility and clearly defined roles as important elements of effective school management.
The conference brought together education professionals from different institutions, providing opportunities for participants to exchange experiences and consider practical approaches to improving their schools.
The event helped build a community of education professionals equipped with leadership skills and effective systems to support stronger schools across Ghana.
