As part of efforts to strengthen local businesses and promote sustainable economic growth, the Obuasi Mine has organised a 2- day digital marketing training programme for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Obuasi.
The training forms part of the Mine’s broader commitment under its 10-Year Socio-Economic Development Plan (SEDP), aimed at building the capacity of local entrepreneurs and enhancing business sustainability within its host communities.

Participants were equipped with practical skills in social media marketing, online branding, customer engagement, digital content creation, and strategies for expanding their market reach through digital platforms.
Facilitators guided the SMEs on how to leverage tools such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp Business, and other digital platforms to improve visibility, attract customers, and increase sales in an increasingly competitive business environment.
Speaking at the programme, the Economic Development Superintendent Daniel Arthur- Bentum who spoke on behalf of the Director Sustainability Management, Edmund Oduro Agyei, emphasized the importance of digital transformation for local businesses, stressing that equipping SMEs with modern marketing skills would help improve their competitiveness and long-term resilience.
Participants expressed appreciation to the Mine for the initiative, noting that the training had broadened their understanding of digital business opportunities and would significantly impact the growth of their enterprises.
The initiative adds to the plethora of enterprise development and capacity-building programmes being implemented by the Mine to empower local businesses and create resilient, self-sustaining communities in Obuasi.
