EC Asked to Put Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom on Ballot Paper.

The Accra High Court 7 presided over by His Lordship Kyei Baffour has asked the Electoral Commission, headed by Mrs. Charlotte Osei to put the flag bearer of the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP), Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom back on the Presidential ballot sheet.

The legal tem for the Progressive Peoples Party was led by former Deputy Attorney General and Minister of Justice in the erstwhile Agyekum Kufour government, Lawyer Ayikoi Otoo.

The PPP said the EC cannot claim to be immune from mistakes and cited a case where the elections governing body wrote ‘1,700’ cedis on a receipt for a 1.7million cedis payment made as filing fees for the PPP parliamentary aspirant.

The current ruling brings the total Presidential candidates for the December 7th Elections to four; making up of John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufu-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ivor Kobina Greenstreet of the Conventions Peoples Party (CPP) and Independent Presidential candidate,Joseph Osei Yeboah.
