Maglans Micro-Credit Donates Food Items to Obuasi Prison Service

Maglans Micro-Credit, a licensed non-bank financial institution, has donated assorted food and household items to the Obuasi Prison Service as part of its Christmas outreach to support inmates and officers.

The items presented included bags of rice, boxes of washing soap, a sack of washing powder, 5kg liquid soap, packs of soft drinks, sachet water, boxes of biscuits, and packs of toilet rolls.

Speaking on behalf of the company, the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Lanslord Asumakah, said the gesture was aimed at sharing love and compassion during the festive season.

“To the men of the Obuasi Prison, we send our heartfelt Christmas greetings. It is our hope that these small gifts will brighten your celebrations and remind you that you are not forgotten. May this season bring peace, strength for the days ahead, and renewed hope for the future,” he said.

Maglans Micro-Credit is registered with the Registrar of Companies and licensed by the Bank of Ghana to provide microcredit services. The institution is supervised by the Bank of Ghana and the Micro-Credit Association of Ghana.

The company serves both the formal and informal sectors, with a strong focus on indigenous traders and small-scale business owners who are often underserved by traditional commercial banks. Maglans Micro-Credit operates in Obuasi and provides financial services to residents of Obuasi and surrounding communities.

The Obuasi Prison Service expressed appreciation for the donation, describing it as timely and supportive, especially during the Christmas season.
