Obuasi East Municipal Assembly joins the rest of the nation to commemorate its version of National Day of Prayer and thanksgiving Service on Tuesday 1st July, 2025 under the theme ‘Reflect, Reset and Renew for National Prosperity’.
The National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving Service was instituted by President John Dramani Mahama in fulfilment of his campaign promise. The day serves as a moment for Ghanaians of all faiths to come together in unity and express gratitude to God for the nation’s abundant blessings.
Speaking at both Christian and Muslim Service at Freeman Methodist Church and Tutuka Central Mosque respectively, the Chief Executive for Obuasi East Municipal Assembly, Hon. Adzowu Kofi William commended His Excellency John Dramani Mahama for such a laudable initiative. He said is a good call for the nation because it is going to elevate Ghana’s spiritual growth and economic development.
In his address he said “as we reflect in our Nation’s History, we acknowledge the many blessings we received as a nation and people, since our independence. In this moment of reflection let us ask ourselves the following questions, what can we learn from our past? What can we do differently to move forward? How can we work together to build a brighter future for all?”
He calls on citizens that as we reset our priorities, we should focus on what truly matters by prioritizing justices, security and compassion and the wellbeing of everyone. “Let us follow and observe the core values of the work, namely, transparency, participation, accountability by protecting the environment and the promoting peace and understanding”.
Hon. Adzowu emphasized that, prayer is a tool of solidarity and divine intervention in governance. He then calls on Religious Leaders in the Municipality to support him with prayers to foster Development specifically for the Obuasi East Municipality.
” Let us commit to being agents of change and transformation in our nation as we reflect on our values, reflect our priorities and renew our commitment to God’s purpose for our nation” . Hon. William added.
