Obuasi Trade Show ’22 Takes Off with a Masquerade Show

The much-anticipated Obuasi Trade Show 2022 has taken off with a beautiful masquerade march through the principal streets of Obuasi. This was followed by the official grand opening of this year’s trade show and Day 1 will end with a Gospel Rock Show in the evening.

The Obuasi Trade show is a business-oriented program organised by a consortium which is made up of the Obuasi Municipal Assembly, Obuasi East District Assembly, Anglogold Ashanti Ghana, as well as other partners in Obuasi.

This year’s Trade Show commenced on Tuesday, 20th December and will end on Sun, 25th December 2022. The 2022 Obuasi Trade Show goes by the theme “Harnessing our creative potential to diversify the local economy”.

Emmanuel Baidoo, Senior Manager Sustainability of AngloGold Ashanti, speaking at the grand opening said as part of the Mine’s commitment to contribute to diversifying the Obuasi economy, the Trade show was birthed with support from key stakeholders. He mentioned that this year’s Trade Show is using the platform to create a marketplace to also promote the creative economy, a sector that has been ignored in previous editions.

The District Chief Executive for Obuasi East, Hon. Faustina Amissah also acknowledged the contributions of the Trade Show consortium to the planning and execution of the annual event.

The Day 1 of the Trade Show will end with a Gospel Rock Show. To perform at the Gospel Rock Show include Obuasi’s finest gospel music stars, Joshua Ahenkorah, Max Gyams, Isaac Sekyi and Minister Wisdom. The rest are Afia Sika, Kwame Gyedu and Songbird Krystabel.
