Youth Urged to Learn Employable Skills for Mining Jobs in Obuasi

Residents, particularly young people in the New Nsuta JJ Electoral Area, have been encouraged to acquire technical and vocational skills to improve their chances of securing employment opportunities within the mining sector.

The advice was given during a community engagement forum organized by Assembly Member Honourable Mohammed Issahaku, which brought together residents and key stakeholders including officials from AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi Mine (AGA), the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), and the Anglican Basic School.

Stakeholders at the meeting emphasized that many of the opportunities available at the Obuasi Mine require technical expertise and recognized professional qualifications.

According to them, job seekers who invest in practical skills and certification stand a better chance of securing employment opportunities in the mining industry.

Participants were therefore encouraged to take advantage of technical and vocational training opportunities to position themselves for available jobs.

The forum also provided residents with an opportunity to interact directly with stakeholders, raise concerns, and discuss solutions to pressing challenges affecting the community.

Participants commended Honourable Mohammed Issahaku for creating a platform that promotes dialogue and community development, expressing hope that the concerns raised during the meeting would receive the necessary attention.
