Young Generation Movement Condemn NPP and Nana Addo Over Importation of Three S.A. Ex Policemen

The leadership of Young Generation Movement (YGM), an organization with the aim of promoting peace in the country, has launched a blistering attack on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its 2016 Flagbearer, over their decision to import three ex-South African policemen into the country, to ostensibly train their guys to provide protection for him and his running mate, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia.

In a press statement signed by the executive director of YGM, Mr.Martin Osei Tutu, described the arguments put out by Nana Akomea, the communications director of NPP and its acting chairman, Mr.Freddy Blay, as not only infantile, but also an insult to Ghanaians.

According to the statement, though the three retired police officers have been deported, there were more questions for Nana Addo and his people to answer.

It added, “as a country it is about to organize national elections in November, such attitude should not be entertained by all peace loving Ghanaians”.

Mr.Osei Tutu, in his statement wanted to know from Nana Addo and his cohorts, in the unlikely event that he wins the November polls, would he replaced all personnel within the state security agencies, since Nana Akomea indicated the NPP has lost trust in them.

He continued that, prior to the 2000 elections when ex-president Rawlings, a former military officer, had all the security agencies at his disposal, the then candidate, John Agyekum Kuffour and the eventual winner of the election, did not import foreign retired security men to train his personal bodyguards. Who, then, is informing Nana Addo to request for the service of ex-South African policemen to train his men?

“What is so peculiar about Nana Addo, and his running mate to warrant the invitation of the three men into the country?”, he questioned.

The statement concluded by calling on Ghanaians to choose a leader whose leadership will work to ensure that the people continue to remain peaceful and united.
