OBUASI MCE ADMONISHES BECE CANDIDATES TO BE DISCIPLINED AFTER THE EXAMS

The Municipal Chief Executive of Obuasi, Honorable Elijah Adansi Bonah has advised students writing the Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E) to continue to be disciplined even after completing their exams.
He made this call when he visited some exams centers on Friday, 8th June, 2018 in Obuasi.
In the company of the Municipal Director of Education, Mr. Anthony Maxwell Amoako, the MCE told the candidates that their educational life does not end after B.E.C.E but rather they should stay disciplined after the exams to enable them enjoy Government’s Free Senior High School.
After congratulating the students for comporting themselves throughout the exams period, he again, advised them to eschew the tendacy where students decide to fight others to settle some scores. He cautioned that Police are on the alert to arrest recalcitrant students.
On his part, the Municipal Education Director of Education, Mr. Maxwell Anthony Amoako felicitated the candidates and advised them to be diligent as they write their last paper.
He notified them that “from Monday, 11th June, 2018, all students should go to their respective schools with their parents, to do the school selection.”
Mr. Amoako in his assessment so far, said, there has been no major hitches whiles the candidates too have comported themselves very well.
In all, 5, 280 candidates were registered for this year’s B.E.C.E, 2676 were boys and 2,604 girls. There were 112 schools, 40 of them private whiles 72 were public schools with 20 centers in all.
The MCE and his team visited the Complex J.H.S, Obuasi Senior High School, Anglo-Ashanti School, and Christ the King Senior High School respectively.
